An industrial mezzanine floor allows you to create additional usable floor space within your existing building at a fraction of the cost of relocating or extending. Costing a mezzanine floor depends on a few different factors, but the primary points to factor in when obtaining a cost are the following.

• Overall square metres of finished floor footprint.
• Finished floor height.
• Staircase location and quantity. If a staircase is on the side of the floor, it can be cheaper than integrating a staircase into the middle of the floor. Also consider how many access staircases are required.
• Load capacity of the mezzanine floor. Generally, a base model mezzanine floor will have a load capacity of 500 kg per square metre. If you require more than this, the cost may increase due to the additional steel required to strengthen the structure.
• Handrails required. Consider how many sides of your mezzanine floor are not touching an existing wall and require a handrail.
• Forklift access, if required. A safety pallet gate can be installed on the mezzanine floor, but access for a forklift below to load and unload needs to be factored into the design process.
