Privacy policy

What we collect, why, who handles it, and your rights. Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who we are

Rack King and Shelving Limited, registered in Ireland (company number 489596, VAT IE 9826615W). Registered office: 130 Glendale, Leixlip, Co. Kildare, W23 K0T3. Warehouse: Tower Hill, Confey, Leixlip, Co. Kildare, W23 F8YP. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions about this policy go to info@racking.ie or (01) 541 5486.

What we collect and why

Enquiries and quote requests. When you send a form on this site we receive what you type: name, company, email address, phone number, county, what you want to store, any file you attach, and the page you sent it from. We use it to answer you and to price the job. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Store orders. When you buy from the store, Stripe takes your payment. We receive your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, what you ordered and the amount paid. We never see your card number. We use the details to fulfil the order and to issue a VAT invoice, and we keep order records for the period Irish tax law requires. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and our legal obligations as a VAT-registered business.

Phone calls. Our numbers run on NuaCom, an Irish telephone service. For every inbound call we record the caller's number, the number dialled, the time and the length of the call, and whether it was answered. We match calls against visits to this site, so we know which page or advert led to the call. Calls are not recorded unless a recorded message tells you so at the start of the call. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the business and understanding where our enquiries come from.

How you use the site. We keep our own log of pages viewed and of taps on our phone number, WhatsApp and email links, with a random visitor identifier held in your browser, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device type and the page or advert that brought you here. We use it to see which pages and adverts lead to enquiries. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Analytics and advertising services. The site also loads Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity, which set cookies and record page views, clicks and, in Clarity's case, anonymised session replays (typed text is masked). Google uses its data to measure and attribute our advertising. Each of these services has its own privacy policy and retention period; Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Spam protection. Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a real browser.

Who processes it for us

We use these providers, each under a data processing agreement:

  • Vercel (website hosting and the database that stores enquiries, orders and the call and visit logs; servers in the United States)
  • Stripe (card payments)
  • Resend (sending our enquiry and order emails)
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, Workspace email)
  • Microsoft (Clarity)
  • Cloudflare (network security, Turnstile)
  • NuaCom (telephone service)
  • Apptics, our marketing agency, which operates the site and the advertising on our behalf

Where a provider stores data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and the visit and call logs: up to three years, so we can follow up a quote and see how the business is performing. Order records: seven years, as tax law requires. Analytics data: as set out by each service above. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing it, or ask us to restrict it. Write to info@racking.ie. We answer within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, www.dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

The analytics and advertising services above set cookies. Our own visit log does not use cookies; it uses an identifier in your browser's local storage that you can clear at any time. Blocking cookies in your browser does not stop the site working.

Changes

We update this page when what we collect changes. The date at the top is the date of the last change.
